Associated Builders and Contractors honors company for Excellence in Construction
OVIEDO, Fla. (Nov. 4, 2021) – Service Complete Electric, a local leading electrical contractor, has been recognized for Excellence in Construction by the Central Florida chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors.
The company received an Eagle Award for work completed on the Universal Studios Store at Universal CityWalk Orlando. SCE’s scope of work included the installation of electrical power, a high-end lighting package, lighting control and a fire alarm system. The work began in August 2020, and despite the difficulties the Covid-19 pandemic caused for the industry, was completed on time in March 2021.
“Creating the Universal Studios Store came with many challenges. We had to introduce new protocols and procedures to keep our team and partners safe,” said Tony Scruggs, president of SCE. “Luckily, we have a strong safety department, and we were able to complete this project smoothly and on schedule, even with the tight timeline.”
SCE also received an Award of Merit for its work on international technology company RIEGL’s new headquarters in Winter Garden. Here, SCE installed full-building electrical infrastructure for both power and lighting, a turn-key fire alarm system, card access, intrusion detection, telecom and data, site and landscaping lighting, and systems furniture connections.
Creating RIEGL’s new headquarters also came with its own challenges, as the COVID-19 pandemic hit just a few months into construction. Along with safety concerns, factories shut down leading to widespread material shortages. Despite these obstacles, through a strong commitment to safety, creative solutions and hard work, SCE was able to complete this project on time and on budget, without incident.
Each year, Associated Builders and Contractors honors the best contractors in the business with its highly coveted Eagle Awards. This is the sixth year in a row SCE has been recognized and the ninth Eagle Award the company has won.
